i'm a girl and I'm very girly....

Well if you guys don't all know... I'm a girl! Pink and girlish things do attract my attention, but that's just who I am. Growing up, I liked legos and other random boy things like pirates and race cars, now I look back and think, "I was a pretty normal child. yay for me."

I'm actually really sad to see advertisements for children today. Everything is so gender stereotyped. Once I saw that girl washing clothes and doing cooking things, I was not please. A girl shouldn't be limited to the kitchen, that's so outdated. We're capable of everything, and I hate that at a young age they are molded to think that they are limited to certain things. I fell like for boys, they can grow up and do anything they want just because it's always been accepted, but for girls.... We've always just been pushed into the kitchen. I hate easy bake commercials because you only see GIRLS cooking instead of boys. I'm pretty sure, a boy would want to bake yummy treats too.. Or at least show a girl and boy working together... I believe that all children commercials should show boys and girls working together instead of just all girls/boys.

Sports or outdoor activities are the only things where I see boys and girls play together

There needs to be more commercials that promote playing with both genders! I noticed a lot of the outdoor toys like the slip and slide involve girls and boys which is great.  There needs to be more ads that focus less on the gender and more on the fun part. If they keep showing these brainwashing ads the children of tomorrow won't become anything special and just live in that norm. We could be potentially losing the best male dancer or the best female scientist. Both boys and girls should discover what they're good at and commercials should only remind them that they are always capable of everything and anything they want.
