When that song plays... You're probably watching an ASPCA commercial. It has to be the saddest thing shown on television. There you see animals getting abused, starving, and dying... It's incredible sad. Then there's this voice over asking for your help to save these animals lives, and the free shirt, jacket, magazine, and tote you get when you donate!
Sometimes I wonder where the money actually goes to... Instead of giving the people all this free stuff for donating money, couldn't they have used the money it takes to produce the "freebies" into helping animals? Anyways the advertisement is actually really effective, I actually donate to the organization even though I'm a poor college student. They catch you with the song and the frail animals, and pretty soon you start associating the song with dying animals and ASPCA.
Whenever I think of ASPCA I think of it's theme song, "In the Arms of an Angel" and the dying animals... I really do believe in ASPCA message to help animals because of how all the images they show, it's actually real footage. They advertise the fact that the animals are INDEED getting abused and that money is a solution to give all the animals a better home. ASPCA also does a good job of reaching out to all animal lovers. From dolphins, dogs, cats, and horse lovers, they show real footage of that animal in harm which really catches the public's attention. As your listening to the commercial you'll probably hear "in the arms of an angel" in the background as you see these animals in pain, the commercial tries to subliminally point out that you are the angel (if you donate)
